Richard Mille 不時在機芯上作畫,於夾板雕刻圖案,以寶石添加色彩,見過靈蛇金龍,也有骷髏蜘蛛,均是精巧奢華之作。然而這製作方式卻不適合用於表現當代藝術,於是 Richard Mille 讓街頭塗鴉大師 Cyril Kongo 在機芯上直接以噴漆作畫,製作出 RM 68-01 陀飛輪 Cyril Kongo 腕表,把塗鴉與機械腕表真正融合一起。
Richard Mille has created works of art with its movements before, engraving intricate patterns or adding colorful precious gemstones. This time, they invited graffiti artist Cyril Kongo to spray paint onto the RM 68-01’s tourbillon movement.


高手相會

英雄間的惺惺相惜,不止見於武林,也見於鐘表世界,甚或是不同的藝術領域。Cyril Phan 生於 1969 年,現居於巴黎,是自學成才的塗鴉大師,以 Cyril Kongo 為藝名,憑藉精湛的塗鴉技藝,不需10年便在歐洲的藝術及文化世界中脫穎而出,躋身前列,現已是塗鴉界的傳奇人物之一。Richard Mille 對 Kongo 極為欣賞,為了將 Kongo 帶入高級腕表世界,品牌花上一年研製新技術,使 Kongo 能直接在橋板和機芯底板噴畫塗鴉。

Richard Mille 花了一年的時間研發出特殊的噴槍,使之每次只噴出一滴極小的液滴,讓 Kongo 能夠在5平方厘米的空間內精準地噴繪各種色彩。所用的顏料同樣是為此腕表而特製,其色澤亮麗、永不褪色,並能完美依附於鈦合金的零件表面,且不受拆裝影響,即使日後腕表要返廠維修,也不怕圖畫受影響。另一方面,顏料的重量於作畫前已經計算並嚴格控制,以免過重而破壞機芯的平衡,影響腕表功能表現。

縱然 Richard Mille 提供了工具與顏料的解決方案,最終也需要 Kongo 的技術將這史上首枚的機芯塗鴉腕表實踐。

Born in 1969, Cyril Phan is a self-taught graffiti artist living in Paris. Known by is pseudonym Cyril Kongo, he has made a name for himself in the art world in just a decade. In order to incorporate Kongo’s work haute horlogerie, Richard Mille spent a year developing a special airbrush so that Kongo could paint directly onto the bridges and baseplate of the movement. The airbrush allowed the paint to be sprayed with the utmost delicacy, one droplet at a time. Kongo developed a painting technique for a canvas of just five square centimeters. The special pigments adhere perfectly to the titanium components and can endure assembly and dismantling.


非凡技巧

自言來自塗鴉世界的 Kongo 指出,他在街上學習塗鴉,那裏就是他的學校,他認為塗鴉是一種獨特的筆墨敘述,無論在巨牆、畫布或是其他物體的表面,均有着自己代碼的語言,所以他既不局限於單一的空間,也不受限於某種特定物體的表面。他固然有信心於機芯創作出理想的畫作,但同時不得不此腕表而重新思考其塗鴉技巧,決定如何在極其有限的機芯表面展示自己的藝術手法。

Kongo 以自己獨特的美學及技術為腕表賦予了新的藝術生命。多種色彩覆蓋了每一件可見的零件,並夾雜着獨特的符號及文字於其中,甚至連指針亦帶有相襯的弧線。翻轉背面,色彩從中央的網狀圖案向四周散開,就像顏料潑向牆壁般後的畫面。塗鴉的線條是無法直接手繪的,所以每一枚零件都是由 Kongo 親自手工噴塗繪製。由於機芯中的一些部件只有幾毫米的長度,甚至更小,他便直接在上面刻字以做到所要求的視覺效果,同時避免顏料過量所帶來的負面影響。

Kongo says he learned graffiti in the street. “It was my school for painting. Graffiti is a language with its own codes, a form of writing, whether this be on a gigantic wall, on canvas, or any other surface. I am not a painter bound to a single space, nor to any particular surface.” But he still needed to rethink his technique for the limited space. Each component of the watch is covered in a bright palate of colors, mixing in a unique vocabulary of symbols and text. On the flipside, the central form of the tourbillon movement’s baseplate radiates outwards in a splash of paint. Because some parts of the movement are only a few millimeters in length, Kongo had to put the lettering directly on them, while not using too much paint so as not to throw off the balance of the movement.


限量之作

塗鴉作品不愛受規範,搭配的當然是非一般的表殼。表殼由 NTPT® 碳纖維表環和黑色陶瓷表圈構成,呈不對稱設計,從9時至3時方向上,厚度逐漸變薄;從 12 時和 6 時方向上,高度逐漸變低。

新款的RM 68-01 陀飛輪 Cyril Kongo 腕表以獨樹一幟的方式彰顯了當代機械藝術與視覺藝術的完美融合,是名副其實的「手腕上的藝術品」。而這次 Richard Mille 和 Kongo 的破格合作,成功聯手把都市高牆上的藝術帶到了腕表中的橋板、機芯主夾板和藍寶石表盤上,亦成為鐘表史上第一次,能讓一位街頭藝人將他的藝術世界完美融入腕表機芯之中。如此難能可貴的腕表,全球僅限量發行 30 枚。

Graffiti is about freedom, freedom from restrictions. So to house this unique work, a special case was required. The case comprises an NTPT Carbon caseband with black ceramic bezels. The asymmetric case design tapers in two directions – in thickness from 9 to 3 o’clock and in height between 12 and 6 o’clock. The new RM 68-01 Cyril Kongo tourbillon watch is the perfect fusion of contemporary mechanical and visual arts. Richard Mille and Kongo have successfully taken an art form largely associated with large-scale urban murals and translated it for haute horlogerie’s world of micromechanics and precision. Limited to 30 pieces worldwide.
